Embit launches the new EMB-LR1276S LoRa micro module

Embit is proud to announce EMB-LR1276S, the new sub-1GHz Embit’s wireless module that supports the LoRaWAN long range protocol.

It comes in a very small form factor (11.5 x 11.5 mm) providing a simple and easy way to add LoRa / LoRaWAN long range connectivity into existing products.

It is based on the new Microchip SAMR34 SiP, an ultra low power microcontroller combined with a UHF transceiver communication interface.

Its main features are:
– Output power: up to +14dBm (+18dBm with PA boost)
– Sensitivity: down to -136dBm
– Crypto unit to protect communication
– Extremely reduced power consumption (<1uA in XLP sleep)

EMB-LR1276S can communicate with other devices through a wide range of serial interfaces: UART, I2C and SPI ports, several digital and analog I/O ports useful for the management of external devices and interfaces.

EMB-LR1276 firmware can be easily developed thanks to the Embit SDK, which include the LoRa / LoRaWAN stack develoed by Microchip.

Electronica 2018 – Messe Munchen, Germany

From 13th to 16th November 2018 Embit joined Electronica 2018, the World’s leading trade fairs and conference for electronics in Munich. On that occasion Embit presented two new products: the brand-new EMB-LR1276S and the LoRaWAN mPCIe boards set/family (EMB-LR1301-mPCIe and EMB-LR1308-mPCIe).

EMB-LR1276S is the smallest module available on the market and it is based on the newest Microchip SAMR34 SiP which is the combination of a 32-bit ARM Cortex M0+ coupled with a sub-1GHz RF transceiver based on Semtech’s SX1276 which fully supports both 868/915 MHz.

On 31/01/2019 and 1/02/2019 Embit will officially present the EMB-LR1276S at The Things Conference in Amsterdam, one of the most important events about LoRaWAN technology in Europe. Embit is partner of the Things Conference.

The new EMB-LR1301-mPCIe 868/915 MHz mini PCI express multichannel LoRaWAN board is coming.

We are pleased to announce to modulo 1 okthe customers and who is interest about LoraWAN technology the release of the EMB-LR1301-mPCIe. This solution provides long range connectivity using ultra-long range spread spectrum communication and high interference immunity on the 868/915MHz radio band

EMB-LR1301-mPCIe offers up to 8 LoRa Channels in the 868MHz (or 915 MHz) frequency allowing it to receive up to 8 LoRa packets simultaneously and it is able to achieve a sensitivity of -137dBm and a RF output of +27dBm making it the ideal device to use in LoRaWAN gateways applications. It includes as well a GPS module.

EMB-LR1301-mPCIe has also the Listen Before Talk (LBT) capability giving to the user to share the same channel. When enabled, the device monitors channels continuously and transmit only if the channel is free. It includes as well a GPS module.

The new LoRaWAN™ EMB-GW1301 gateway is now available!

The LoRaWAN™ EMB-GW1301 gateway is the latest creation of Embit presented to the market. It is a multi service upgradable platform designed to meet IoT M2M scenarios. It enables LoRaWAN connectivity to the cloud, providing a cost effective solution for IoT wireless infrastructure.


The EMB-GW1301 is based on the Semtech SX1301 chipset, allowing to operate on multiple channels at the same time. Thanks to the Semtech SX1301 performances and the efficient Embit RF design, the possible radio ranges are up to 15 km in the countryside and 3 km in urban areas. Network connectivity is provided by the Ethernet interface; optional radio communication interfaces (3G/4G/Wi-Fi) can be included.

The EMB-GW1301 can be preloaded with a specific customer’s firmware and configuration or whit the most well known LoRaWAN network provider configuration.

The solution includes a Full OSS system with access to a cloud service for the provisioning and monitoring of the base station and the end-devices (alarms..).

The gateway is also available for outdoor usage, with POE and GPS options. The system will be provided with an IP 67 plastic case.

Its duel usage ( Indoor/Outdoor version) can be an optimal solution for a numerous applications in the M2M/IOT area. LoRa Technology is ideal for battery-operated sensor and low-power applications such as: IOT, Smart Home, Smart City, Smart Water, Healthcare, Industrial Automation, Pet Tracking, Cycles Tracking, Street Lighting and all the scenarios where the extremely low power consumption and long range connectivity are needed.

Embit launches the new EMB-LR1272 long range 868/915 MHz module

EMB-LR1272 is the first sub-1GHz Embit’s wireless module featuring the Semtech LoRa™ long range modem providing ultra-long range spread spectrum communication and high interference immunity on the 868/915 MHz radio band. It is also compatible with Wireless M-Bus EN 13757-4 specifications (S/T/R/C modes).


It is based on Semtech SX1272 transceiver coupled with Atmel® ATSAMD20 MCU, equipped with up to 256 kBytes of FLASH memory and up to 32 kBytes of SRAM memory.

EMB-LR1272 can communicate with other devices through a wide range of serial interfaces: UART, I2C and SPI ports, several digital and analog I/O ports useful for the management of external devices and interfaces.

EMB-LR1272 firmware can be easily developed thanks to the Embit SDK, which is compliant with the Semtech LoRaMac protocol.

The evaluation kit for EMB-Z2538PA modules is now available

EMB-x-EVKThe evaluation/development kit EMB-Z2538PA-EVK is now available and provides all the tools (evaluation boards, programmer, sniffer for over-the-air traffic) to start your development on Embit latest CC2538-based platform: the EMB-Z2538PA.

Such Embit CC2538-based platform provides 512 kB of FLASH memory and an amazing quantity of SRAM (32 kB).  These features allow the customer to embed large and innovative wireless applications directly on the module (e.g., ZigBee Smart Energy compliant solutions). In particular, Internet Of Things (IoT) applications are a perfect fit for this module!

With the development kit you get all the tools and documentation required to get started with your own firmware development; all you need to have is a computer with USB ports to connect the evaluation boards and the programmer! Finally, if you are not willing to develop your own firmware for the modules, you can just use the EBI-802.15.4 pre-programmed firmware that comes on the modules to build your own wireless sensor network in few minutes, using the EMB-Z2538PA modules as flexible UART modems.


Embit launches new 868 MHz Ethernet to WMBus gateway

EMB-GATE-WMB868Embit launches today a new gateway / bridge for 868 MHz Wireless M-Bus networks: the EMB-GATE-WMB868 is a low-cost, powerful embedded system that interfaces the EMB-WMB868 module to Ethernet TCP/IP networks.

The EMB-GATE-WMB868 can be configured in a few minutes, through an user-friendly embedded web server. Moreover this gateway can be used as an open platform: an SDK consisting of C/C++ libraries is provided to develop your own application running on the embedded Linux OS. This allows any user to design his custom application and have his own product behavior.

The application scenarios include: gas/water/electricity utilities deploying Wireless M-Bus networks for automatic meter reading (AMR), custom wireless sensor network (WSN) applications and more!

The product will be available soon for sampling.

EMB-Z2538PA is the new ARM Cortex-M3 wireless module by Embit

Embit today expands his product line with a new ARM Cortex™-M3 based wireless module.EMB-Z2538PA-lateral

The EMB-Z2538PA is a 2.4 GHz wireless module featuring a powerful ARM Cortex™-M3 equipped with up to 512 kB of FLASH memory and 32 kB of SRAM. The EMB-Z2538PA, based on Texas Instruments® CC2538  single-chip solution, couples the ARM Cortex™-M3 core with a state-of-art 2.4 GHz radio transceiver; the RF section integrates a PA/LNA stage assuring best-inclass performance in terms of covered area (the link budget is up to 120 dBm).

EMB-Z2538PA can communicate with other devices through several interfaces: two UART ports, a SPI, several digital I/O ports (up to 15 digital lines) and an ADC port. Moreover, development of IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee applications is easy thanks to the Texas Instruments® TIMAC and Z-Stack libraries, respectively.
