Features Overview

  • Features Common to all Embit Wireless Modules

All Embit wireless modules share the embedded microsystems philosophy: the microcontroller inside the module is open to the customer that can develop his own firmware. Alternatively, Embit wireless modules can be employed as flexible modems employing simple AT-like commands (over UART, see EBI page for more info):

In addition, every Embit wireless module is designed to be easily replaceable with another Embit wireless module: they are all pin-to-pin compatible and with the same form-factor.Other features common to all Embit wireless modules are:

    • U.FL connector for external antennas (all)
    • pads for RF routing to customer PCB antennas (EMB-ZRF212B, EMB-WMBx)
    • EDGE connector for simplified soldering on customer boards (all)

Such features allow the customer to maintain unaltered the hardware, firmware and software of his host board, and still ensure compatibility with future Embit wireless modules… this is what we call Embit Flexibility!
